During a press conference, the Indian Air Force also unveiled a model of the IAF tableau that will be displayed during the parade on 26 January

Fifty aircraft will take part in the Republic Day celebrations at the Kartavya Path, including the Navy's IL-38, which will be displayed at the event for the first and possibly final time, according to a senior IAF official.

An official described the IL-38 as an Indian Navy maritime reconnaissance aircraft that has been in service for nearly 42 years.

“It will be shown for the first time, and possibly the last time, during the Republic Day celebrations here. It will be one of the 50 aircraft participating in the event,” according to the IAF official.

He added that four of the 50 aircraft will be from the Army.

During a press conference here, the Indian Air Force also unveiled a model of the IAF tableau that will be displayed during the parade on 26 January.

After Rajpath was renamed Kartavya Path last year, this will be the first Republic Day celebrations held on the ceremonial boulevard.
