DefExpo 2022: HAL To Showcase Its Indigenous Defence Products

HAL’s 'Indigenisation Exhibition Stall’ will display over 200 imported commodities, which are to be indigenised alongside private industries in coming years

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced on Friday that it is preparing to showcase its indigenous defence equipment and systems at the 12th edition of DefExpo, which will be held in Gandhinagar from 18 to 22 October.

HAL, a Bengaluru-based company said, "HAL's participation will focus on technological excellence and indigenisation initiatives, under its business verticals such as fighters, trainers, transport aircraft, helicopters, engines, systems and avionics, as well as projecting the company's futuristic programmes.”

According to the statement, HAL will have a dedicated 'Indigenisation Exhibition Stall' for active involvement and interaction with Indian business partners. In order to encourage Indian business, this stall will display over 200 imported commodities, which are to be indigenised alongside private industries. Also, there will be up to 26 previously indigenous pieces on the show.

The company plans to launch a document on HAL's indigenisation success stories, hand over "Project Sanction Orders" of positive indigenisation list items to Indian private partners, hand over approvals/clearance certificates to industry partners for indigenised items and launch an Indigenisation - Supplier Relationship Management portal.

During the event, HAL's Light Combat Helicopter 'Prachand' will be displayed in the outdoor display area.
