Kerala Seeks Investment In Defence Park At Palakkad

KINFRA has set up a Defence Park in 60 acres of land at Ottapalam, Palakkad with assistance from the Government of India under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation (MIIU) Scheme. The thrust sector includes Research & Design, naval electronic sub-systems and accessories, land electronic sub-systems and accessories, and aerospace electronic sub-systems, tooling and accessories. The thrust can be employed in sub-systems/auxiliaries in the manufacturing of the rotary & Fixed Wing aircrafts, Defence navigation technology, Tactical Vehicles, Submarine building, Warship/ Naval, Defence IT systems and solutions, Avionics, Space - Robotics Maintenance, Microsatellites, Unmanned Systems etc 

KINFRA has developed basic infrastructure like Power, Water, Internal roads, Rainwater harvesting etc. The Park also provides ready-to-occupy CFC building with an area of 2,64,638 Sq. ft, Administrative building with an area of 72,406 Sq. ft, Warehouses with an area of 28,317 Sq. ft area and Common Utility Centre with 7,271 Sq. ft. area. Other facilities include Service yard, Car parking, Road and Compound Wall Conference rooms, Paint booth, Tool rooms etc 

KINFRA also proposes to set up Testing lab in Defence Park under Testing Infrastructure Scheme of Ministry of Defence, Govt of India.  

The Terms and Conditions of payment are as follows:  

  1. For land 

10% of the land value to be remitted as EMD within 30 days from the receipt of Letter of Intimation, another of 10% of the lease premium to be remitted as down payment within 30 days of receipt of Allotment Letter. The balance amount of lease premium is to be remitted within 5 years as 5 equal instalments from the date of commencement of License Agreement  

Or 

100% of the current lease premium (including 10% EMD) on land is to be remitted within 30 days of receipt of the Allotment Letter 

Allottee will enter into License agreement with KINFRA for 30 years on a lease hold basis and can be renewed on every 30-year term by remitting Rs.5000/- and GST (up to maximum 90 years) 

  1. For Standard Design Factory (SDF)  

The allottee shall enter into a Lease Deed for a period of 10 years   which is renewable up to 30 years. 12 months interest free deposit to be remitted, which will be refunded after statuary deductions if any at the time of termination of the deed.  

  

  • The lease premium for the land is                                 Rs/ 1.8 Cr per Acre 

  • The Lease rent for the ready to occupy space is         Rs/12 Sq. Ft/ Month
