No Army Wins the War Alone: General Bipin Rawat

Speaking on military modernization conference by BW Businessworld on 27th of July in National Capital, Chief of Indian Army General Bipin Gen Rawat throws light on the integration and coordination of all the military forces. Gen Gen Rawat said, ”No army can win the war alone, it's the joint effort that pays off”.


Gen Rawat addressed the gathering of industry and armed forces personnel along with foreign dignitaries from various Embassies. Gen Rawat said, “It’s good to find a society that has its eye on defence modernization”. “We are on right track of modernization and we are the only security provider to south Asia as well as East Asia. The nations of these regions look at us for security cover”, said Gen Rawat.

Gen Rawat had suggested of internal as well as threat from close neighborhood. We hence need to take advantage of best that can be provided by international agencies which is also affordable shared Gen Rawat.


Gen Rawat said: “we are moving forward and adding strategic chapter to defence procurement. Focus is also towards modernization of every segment with an eye on possible upgrade opportunity in future”


Gen Rawat also focused on the importance of defence budget and said: “in the past we went for whatever was easily available system but now we are looking at system from more of holistic approach’’.  We have a legacy of piled up defence holding for emergencies that may not be a case once we are moving towards cooperative collaboration between industry in India and our demand said Gen Rawat.


India is now focusing on equivalent modernisation of all the columns in army for a comprehensive and ultimate force on rivals. Each of our Armed Forces should be prepared to operate with interchangeable aspects so that terrains cannot be a hurdle any more. India is moving towards more customized and all terrain both kind of war machines informed Gen Rawat.


Gen Rawat had also focused upon surveillance and reconnaissance systems. “This is the reason we are also working towards developing battlefield management system”, Gen Rawat shared his experience that Indian armed forces rely on operational experience but keeping every micro aspect in mind. Modernization of Artillery is an example of our preparedness said Gen Rawat.
