"We don't harass anyone, but if they try to do so, we will not let them go without thrashing them," says defence minister Rajnath Singh during an informal talk with armed forces and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel in Auli, Uttarakhand.

He performed “Shastra Puja” on the occasion of Dusshera and commended the contribution of the armed forces and paramilitary forces in ensuring the security and economic progress of the nation.

He said India is the only country that worships both literature and weapons. "This is our culture and Indian value to be grateful for those who help us protect our country from the evil eye and external threats," he added.

He also said that whenever our neighbours showed their frustration towards us, we gave them a befitting reply. With time, India is getting more assertive and strong under the bright leadership of our prime minister, Narendra Modi.

He further said that the world now recognises that the Indian armed forces are one of the best among the major armed forces. India’s reputation has grown across the globe in the last few years and now the world listens to us with great seriousness and asks India's opinion in any international dispute.

On the Galwan incident, the minister said we have shown our power to neighbours and that we would never bow down. “We never attacked any country and captured another’s territory in our history, but this is also a reality, if anyone raises their evil eye, India will not let them go unpunished,” he concluded.
