Indian Navy Ships Visit Oman As Part Of Cross-Training Programme

As part of the training tour, 15 officers and cadets from the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) paid the Indian ships a reciprocal visit. Also, 250 kids from different Omani schools visited Indian ships.

The INS Tir, INS Sujata and CGS Sarathi of the Indian Navy's first training squadron, which is on deployment abroad to train officer candidates, reached Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, Oman on Sunday.

The Indian trainees and officers visited Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy as part of the cross-training tours. 15 officers and cadets from the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) paid the Indian ships a reciprocal visit. 

As part of a community engagement programme, the ships were also visited by 250 kids from different Omani schools. They received a briefing on the functions and training features of the ships.

Approximately 2,000 students and staff members attended the event at the Indian School in Muscat, organised as part of an interaction with the students of Indian schools in and around Oman.

A band performance was part of it and was followed by a lecture about the "career path to the defence forces." According to a Navy statement, the ship's crew also made visits and had professional interactions with a number of top military and government officials during the port call.
